We would like a volunteer to drive our minibus when service users are going on local outings.

Escort on Outings – Elizabeth House                                                                                        30-2487

We are looking for someone to volunteer to assist in all the above. This may be as a group acitivity on a more person centred 1-1 activity.  This would involve the individual to be quite active and out-going and able to assist service users with activities such as swimming and shopping etc.  There will also be a certain amount of moving and handling for which training will be given.

As a trained volunteer you can:

- offer emotional support to individuals

- be someone independent to talk to

- help individuals decide what to do next

- offer support and encouragement with finding another joh

Volunteers will be trained and supported by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation and will also receive a contribution to their out of pocket expenses.  You must be 18 or over and commit to the programme once a week for six months and no longer than 18 months.  (In some exceptions shorter periods of volunteering may be arranged.)

Catering Assistant – Olive Branch Café – Bennochy Church                                                       30-2495

Would you be interested in preparing and serving wholesome snacks and lunches at a new community venue?  Would you be happy to chat to customers who will tend to be older people or perhaps those who are new to the area?   The Olive Branch Cafe in Bennochy Church will initially operate one day a week from 10.30am until 2pm serving teas/coffees, soup, sandwiches and home baking at a very reasonable cost.
