The purpose of this Fund is to support local community based projects that have the promotion of community safety as their primary aim and would not generally qualify for support from mainstream service or agency budgets.
Funding will be awarded to projects which provide relevant activities, services or equipment aimed towards:
- Tackling the causes of crime and antisocial behaviour
- Reducing the opportunity for crime to be committed
- Reducing concerns and perceptions of crime in the community
- The promotion of safer communities in Fife
Priority will be given to projects which:
· Demonstrate innovation and a multi-agency approach
· show how the community set to benefit will have continued interest and involvement.
· Evidence community consultation with the target beneficiaries, elected representatives and partner agencies.
· Meet clearly evidenced local needs and priorities
· Have attracted a significant proportion of match funding or
resources from other sources.
· Evidence the short- and long-term community safety outcomes for the local community
Applicants can apply for up to £10,000 towards their project, with one project awarded one grant in a financial year.
Grants will be administered by Fife Community Safety Partnership, with approval given by the relevant Area Community Safety Co-ordinating Group or Area Committee dependent on the amount of funding requested.
Terms and conditions are as per Fife Council Funding & Monitoring Guidance.
The deadline for applications is Friday 7th May. A second round of applications will be considered in the autumn for any funding remaining.
