Kirkcaldy Station is located to the north-west of the town centre and is well sign-posted throughout the town.
Monday to Saturday 0630 – 1900
Sunday 0800 – 1915
There are waiting rooms situated on both platforms. They are only open during the above times. In the station building (adjacent to Platform 1), there is timetable information for both platforms, a cash machine (there is a charge for withdrawals), electronic information screens displaying train information and a kiosk selling newspapers and refreshments. The ticket office is fitted with an induction loop for deaf and hard of hearing people.
A ticket machine is located in the waiting room on Platform 1.
There is a large, free car park off Whytemelville Road (Forth Avenue) with 470 spaces including 11 designated spaces for Blue European Parking Badge holders. The Station Road (Bennochy Road) Car Park has 124 spaces including 4 designated spaces for Blue European Parking Badge holders. There is also parking on Station Road itself (the main vehicle access to the station) with space for 31 cars and 5 designated spaces for Blue European Parking Badge holders. All car parks are lit and have CCTV cameras.
Drop-off / Pick-up points
Passengers can be dropped off or picked up immediately adjacent to the main entrance on Station Road. Passengers can also be dropped off or picked up at the Whytemelville Road entrance where short-term waiting is available.
Buses / Bus Stops
The main bus stops are 100 metres away on Bennochy Road at the end of Station Road. They have lit shelters and full timetable information. Footways, dropped kerbs and a pedestrian crossing allow easy access to the stops.
There are also bus stops on Whytemelville Road adjacent to, and opposite, the University of Dundee, 100 metres from Platform 2.

Kirkcaldy Bus Station is 500 metres from the station, along Bennochy Road and Wemyssfield, in the direction of the town centre.
Ring & Ride services can serve the station for those who have difficulty using conventional bus services.
There are taxi ranks adjacent to both the Station Road and Whytemelville Road forecourts.
A public telephone is located in the main station building on Platform 1. There is also a phone on Platform 2 outside the waiting room. A further phone is available at the foot of Station Road (100 metres from the main station building at Platform 1). All phones accept coins and cards.
There is also a Freephone unit, to contact various local businesses and taxi operators, located on Platform 1.
The Edinburgh-bound platform (Platform 1) can be accessed by a lift, located between the ticket office building and the subway, or 16 steps located within the main building.
There is also a ramped access (4° incline) to Platform 1 at the side of the station building on Station Road. This ramp will be closed 0700-1000 (Mon-Fri) and 1000-1400 on Saturdays. A ‘press for assistance’ button is available next to the ramp to summon staff assistance or it can be unlocked by means of a radar key.
Platform width = 8.4m minimum.
The Aberdeen-bound platform (Platform 2) can be accessed from Station Road down 4 steps or a ramp (2° incline), through the subway and either by a lift located within the subway or up a further 21 steps. Platform 2 can also be accessed from Whytemelville Road Car Park via 3 steps or a ramped access (5° incline) . Platform width = 5.5m minimum.
Both platforms have tactile edges, are lit, have sheltered seating, timetable information, CCTV and electronic information screens. There are Help Points if you require assistance (see page 50 for more details).
All trains serving this station carry on-board ramps to assist with boarding/alighting.
The Ladies, Gents, Disabled and Baby Changing facilities are free of charge and are situated in the main building on Platform 1. These toilets are only open during ticket office hours.
Timetable information is available on both platforms, in the ticket office, displayed in the subway, on electronic information screens and by using the Help Points.
There are 5 lockers located in the Station Road Car Park and 14 lockers located in the Whytemelville Road Car Park. There is also a rack for 6 bikes on Platform 2. Users must provide their own bike locks (rack) or padlock (lockers).
There are CCTV cameras throughout the station building, in the car parks and on both platforms.
There is a postbox located on Station Road.
British Transport Police has an office on Platform 1.
