Viewforth High School was built in 1908; it is a non-denominational, co-educational secondary school.
The aspect of the school is enhanced by spectacular views of the Firth of Forth.
The original school building presents a fine edifice on Loughborough Road and its style is in keeping with the surrounding residences. Behind the original building are parts added at various stages during the school's development.
The school has been nominated to be a New Community School and this will initially bring additional funding as well as multi-agency working for the benefits of our pupils.
Our aim is to create an ethos within the school environment where pupils, parents and staff work together in partnership to provide the highest possible standard of education for all pupils.
The School Board and our Pupil Council meets regularly to discuss concerns and issues raised by parents and pupils.
A residential programme at Loaningdale is offered to S1 pupils, and also our senior pupils benefit from their residential at St Andrews University. Our extensive extra-curricular programme includes football, netball, chess, craft club, and various other activities throughout the year. We make effective use of the local environment to support a wide curriculum.
We are always pleased to meet with parents who wish to discuss any aspects of our school.
