Welcome to Letham Primary School.
Our school is situated on a hill in Letham, with lovely views over the Howe of Fife and to the Lomond Hills. The average roll of around 36 pupils is split into two multi-composite classes, with our full-time Classroom Assistant based in the younger class. Our Learning Support Teacher visits weekly and we have regular visits from Teachers of Expressive Arts.
Pupils travel to school, by minibus, from the villages of Bow of Fife, Collessie and the surrounding rural areas.
Our aims are:
- to provide our pupils with an enjoyable educational experience
- to give them a firm foundation of learning
- to equip them to cope with the demands and challenges of adult life in an environment that is safe, secure and stimulating
We believe:
- the healthy development of the whole child underpins their effectiveness as learners, so we give prominence to Health Education in the curriculum
- in today's changing society IT skills, which are increasingly important, are developed and used by our pupils to further their learning.
At Letham we enjoy being part of the local community and welcome members of it who are interested in our school.
We work closely with our parents, all of whom are members of the PTA. The PTA is involved in many aspects of school life as well as organising fundraising and social events.
