Balcurvie Primary School and Nursery serve the village of Windygates and surrounding area. Housing is a mixture of local authority houses and privately owned houses with the village expanding rapidly due to a growing number of new developments.
The main school building is Victorian and houses five classrooms a multi-purpose hall and a kitchen / dining room, two medway huts cater for a further two classes.
The nursery building, also Victorian, has two classrooms, staffroom, and kitchen and sits adjacent to the school grounds.
The school also benefits from a large playing field to the rear of the building.

Directions
If coming from Kirkcaldy take the A915 towards Leven go straight through the first roundabout then straight through the second roundabout to the village of Windygates. Go straight through the traffic lights then turn 1st right onto Balcurvie Road. The school is situated on the right at the top of the hill.
