The John McDouall Stuart Museum has now closed permanently.
The artefacts which were on display there were generously lent by other museums and these have now all been returned. We are grateful for the many years we were able to display them.

Stuart’s achievements continue to be celebrated in Dysart.
An audio trail round Dysart will be available from the Harbour Master’s House. It includes Stuart’s birthplace and information on his life. Later in 2013, a landscaped area in the Town will commemorate his epic journeys, and a short film telling Stuart's life story will be available to view at the Harbour Master's House.
The museum, which was housed in part of the building where Stuart was born, has been purchased by Fife Historic Buildings Trust. It has been converted into a small holiday apartment to encourage visitors to Dysart and to the Coastal Path, as part of the Townscape Heritage Initiative currently ongoing in Dysart. It is now available for bookings. For more details please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
