Local Community Safety Initiatives

Watches at Kirkcaldy Station have taken every opportunity to deliver fire safety advice to households in their area through home fire safety checks and smoke alarm fitting.  In addition the crews have supported several initiatives including:

School follow up visits at Primary 6 level to confirm the messages delivered during previous scheduled visits.  This involved the crews engaging with the school pupils, checking their safety awareness by utilising evaluation questionnaires.

Additional visits to secondary schools gave the opportunity to target fire related anti-social behaviour.

Watches also take part in the New Baby Initiative at Forth Park Hospital by visiting groups of expectant parents to discuss fire safety matters and offer home fire safety checks.
