St Andrews Bus Station

 General Location
St Andrews Bus Station is on Station Road, just off City Road, and is a few minutes walk from the Town Centre.  There are 4 stances adjacent to the main building.

Staffing Hours
Monday to Friday    0730 - 2230
Saturday        0800 - 2230
Sunday            1200 - 2030

The Supervisor's Office / Travel Shop is located within the main building and is fitted with an induction loop for deaf and hard of hearing people.

Waiting Room
The waiting room is located in the main building and is only open during staffing hours.

Parking
There is no designated car parking available at the Bus Station. However, free parking is available in Petheram Bridge Car Park, with space for 318 cars. There are no Blue European Parking Badge spaces. The car park is 150 metres from the Bus Station via a 3° inclined path or Station Road (5° incline). Car access is from North Haugh or Doubledykes Road.

 
Drop-off / Pick-up points
Passengers can be dropped off or picked up at the drop-off point on Station Road directly outside the main building.


Taxi Ranks
There is a taxi rank opposite the stances, in Station Road, reached by a crossing with dropped kerbs from Stance 1.

Telephones
There is a public telephone on Station Road beside Stance 1. This phone accepts coins and cards.

Bus Information
An electronic departure screen and timetable information are located within the main building as is the Supervisor’s Office / Travel Shop. Timetables for services running outwith normal staffing hours (when the building is closed) are displayed in the windows between Stances 2 & 3.

Stance Access
The main entrance is on the Station Road/City Road junction. The 4 stances are accessed from the main building via 2 doors. There is level access throughout the building and on the stances.

From Petheram Bridge Car Park, access is via Station Road (5° incline) or a 150m, 3° inclined path then via a footway and crossing with dropped kerbs to the stances.  

Toilets
Ladies, Gents, Disabled toilets and baby changing facilities are located within the main building.  There is a 30p charge.
Opening hours are as follows: -

Monday to Friday    0730 - 2200
Saturday        0800 - 2200
Sunday            1200 - 2000

Passengers wishing to use the disabled toilet should press the button at the toilet entrance to alert staff to open the gate.

Left Luggage
Luggage lockers are available in the waiting room. A non-returnable charge of £1 is levied for each locker.

Cycle Facilities
There are 6 lockers next to the phone box at the bus station entrance. Users must contact the bus station supervisor for initial access to the lockers. Users must also provide their own padlock.

CCTV
There are CCTV cameras positioned throughout the Bus Station but not in the car park.

Other Information
The Stagecoach Travel Shop is located in the main building and is open:

Monday to Friday    0900 - 1700
(closed 1300 - 1400)
Saturday        0900 - 1200
Sundays        Closed

During July & August the Travel Shop is open extended hours on a Saturday.

Saturday        0830 - 1600
(closed 1300 - 1330)

There is a ‘real-time’ train information screen located in the main building. This shows arrival and departure times of trains from Leuchars Railway Station. A combined bus and rail ‘through’ ticket can be bought from the bus station ticket office.

The Bus Station is ideally located for many of the buildings at St Andrews University, which are situated around the Petheram Bridge Car Park.

To reach ‘The Old Course’, leave the Bus Station by Station Road. Turn Left into City Road.  At the bottom of the hill, turn right into North Street then first left into Golf Place. The 1st tee/18th Green of The Old Course is located some 100 metres down Golf Place on the left hand side.

Vending machines providing snacks and hot or cold drinks are located within the station building.

There is a post box situated outside the main entrance on City Road.
