General Location
 

Glenrothes Bus Station is centrally located on Church Street adjacent to the Kingdom Shopping Centre.  There are 16 stances: 8 adjacent to the main building (Stances 1-8) and 8 between the main building and the Golden Acorn Car Park (Stances 9-16).



Staffing Hours

The Bus Station is staffed at the following times:

Monday to Friday      0730 – 2230

Saturday                  0800 – 2230

Sunday                    1200 – 2030

 

The Supervisor's Office is inside the main building beside the door leading to Stance 8.



Waiting Room

There are 2 waiting rooms in the Bus Station. The main waiting room faces onto Stances 1-8 and the other (heated room) is adjacent to the toilets. There is sheltered seating at all stances.



Parking

There is a Pay & Display car park, with 54 spaces, opposite the Golden Acorn pub (beside Stance 16).
 

Drop-off / Pick-up points

Passengers can be dropped off or picked up in the car park opposite the Golden Acorn pub (beside Stance 16) or from the Dunnes Stores Car Park, which is 10 metres from Stance 1 via a zebra crossing with dropped kerbs



Taxi Ranks

There is a taxi rank adjacent to Stances 10 - 16.



Telephones

Public telephones are located inside the bus station building adjacent to the Supervisor's Office. These are coin only phones.



Bus Information

Each stance has shelters, timetable and route information. Electronic information is displayed within the main building and in each bus stance. Information points are situated opposite Stances 2, 8 & 9 and within the station building.


The Travel Shop, located opposite the main waiting room, provides information on local public transport.  


The Supervisor's Office is inside the main building beside the door leading to Stance 8.



Stance Access

The bus station can be accessed from the Church Street pedestrian crossing directly onto Stance 8.  The Postgate entrance (to the rear of the bus station) links with the Kingdom Shopping Centre. Stance 1 can be accessed via a dropped kerb footway  and zebra crossing from Dunnes Stores.  Stance 16 is accessed from the car park at the Golden Acorn. You can also access the Bus Station from Albany Gate, behind the hairdressers, at Stance 9.



Toilets

The Ladies, Gents and Disabled toilets are in the main building.  There is a 30p charge for this toilet. The opening hours are as follows: -

Monday to Friday       0730 – 2200

Saturday                   0800 – 2200

Sunday                     1200 – 2000



Left Luggage

Luggage lockers are available in the main waiting room. A non-returnable charge of £1 is levied for each locker.



Cycle Facilities

There is a cycle rack for 6 bikes opposite Stance 8 and 8 cycle lockers beside Stance 1. Users must contact the bus station supervisor for initial access to the lockers. Users must also provide their own padlock (lockers) or bike lock (racks).



CCTV

There are CCTV cameras throughout the station building and for all stances but not in the car park.

Stagecoach Travel Shop opening hours: -


Monday to Friday      0830 – 1700 (closed 1300 – 1400)

Saturday                  0900 – 1400

Sundays                 Closed



A snack bar is inside the main building opposite the Stagecoach Travel Shop.  


There is a newspaper kiosk inside the main building, opposite the Stagecoach Travel Shop.  Opening hours are as follows: -


Monday to Saturday      0730 – 1630

Sundays                       Closed


There is also a sewing shop, flower shop and personal finance shop.


There is a photo booth at the exit door to Stance 6.
