Noisy Activities

Sound is essential to our daily lives, but noise is not - noise can be defined as unwanted sound. It's a source of irritation and stress for many people and can even damage our hearing if it's loud enough. Many of us are exposed to stressful levels of noise at home, at leisure and at work.

Neighbour noise

Contact us if you are experiencing problems with:

  • noisy neighbours
  • noise from businesses
  • amplified music from entertainment in licensed premises

You will be asked to provide details of:

  • the noise complaint including the type of noise
  • how long and often it occurs
  • how it affects you and your family

It will help if you have kept a written record of the dates and times it has occurred and how it affected you eg kept you awake, woke you up etc.  A log sheet can be use to record details. We will keep your details confidential.

Noise in your workplace

Noise at work may be affecting your hearing and your health. If you have concerns about the levels of noise that you are subjected to while at work then this is dealt with under health and safety legislation. You can contact us for advice.
