Purpose of consultation

This consultation is to gain views on a proposed revision to the land use proposals set out in the adopted Mid Fife Local Plan for the area to be developed as John Smith Business Park.

This land already has outline planning permission for a business park and a number of ancillary / community uses including hotel and conference facilities, restaurant, creche, leisure and retail facilities, and some of the site has already been developed.

The revision proposed to the Mid Fife Local Plan does not change the mix of uses proposed for the area, nor does it change the proposed scale of the different uses; the aim of the guidance is to allow flexibility as to where on the site the different uses could be located.

Following the consultation the guidance will be reviewed to take account of comments that have been received. The guidance will then be taken to Kirkcaldy Area Committee for approval.
