Purpose of consultation

Bikeability Scotland is the modern day cycling proficiency.  It’s moved on a bit since the old test you might remember doing. You probably did some basic skills in the playground with a local policeman or the janitor. These days, children receive much more comprehensive training to give them the skills and confidence to cycle on today’s roads.

There are three levels of training, and kids are taught out on the roads for levels 2 and 3, to make sure they have the confidence to make independent journeys on their bikes. The scheme is run by Cycling Scotland.

This new programme is being delivered in Fife jointly by Active Schools, Environment and Transportation Services and Education (outdoor education).

This consultation is to find out where your school currently stands with cycle training and if we can offer any support in helping rolling out training to pupils.

Consultation Period

25th May 2012 to 25th June 2012
