Welcome to the Fife Environment Trust website.
The Trust continues to operate as one of the key Funding Bodies in Fife awarding grants for community, environmental and heritage projects across the Kingdom to benefit the lives of those living close to landfill sites.
The Trust is committed to distributing funds which maximise the benefits for Fife's communities through community, environmental and heritage projects with a specific emphasis on:
- Improving quality of life for local communities by safeguarding and supporting improvements to the built and natural environment of Fife;
- Supporting local community led urban and rural regeneration schemes that encompass social inclusion and community capacity building.
Priority is given to projects that demonstrate partnership working, community involvement and/or innovative use of amenities to enhance, maintain or introduce real community led social, economic or environmental improvements.
The maximum threshold for larger grants is £50,000 and the objectives of the small grants scheme (which offers 90% funding for projects costing up to £10,000) have been widened to include support for community facilities such as village halls, church halls, sports clubs, activity centres, etc. All projects must demonstrate wider public access arrangements.
