Browse the site

The main menu across the top of the page gives you a choice of ways to browse information:

  • If you like to look at information by subject area go to Subjects and select areas that you're interested in. You will see that very broad subject areas are then split into more specific subjects that gather together relevant services, advice, news, events etc.
  • If you want to see who does what go to Organisations. You can look up any of the public, community or voluntary organisation that contributes information to fifedirect and see all their contact details and information in one place.
  • If you prefer a local view go to Your Town and pick your nearest town. As well as a bit about the town and its history, you'll find local news and events, details of your nearest facilities, local representatives and groups and organisations in your area.
  • Visit the News centre or the What's On guide for all the latest news and events across Fife.

Find a specific piece of information

If you already know what you want to find on fifedirect there are a number of ways that you can search for this information. Choose one that suits you:

  • Type a key word (or words) into the Search box that's at the top of every page and we'll show you a list of the most relevant matches.
  • If you're familiar with internet searches and the type of content on fifedirect you can do a more refined Site Search (this lives behind the A to Z menu option).
  • Go to the A to Z and see if what you want is included in the alphabetical list. As well as the main A to Z, so if you're looking for something very specific these are useful.

Find a contact

Across the site contact details are included against specific pieces of information so, if you want to find a contact for a particular service, look that service up and you'll find the contact.

General contact details are held against organisations. Look up the organisation you want to contact e.g. Fife Council and you'll find contact details on their homepage, or on their Contacting Us page. See fifedirect's main Contact Us page for signposts to the organisations that contribute to the website.

If you want to contact us about the fifedirect website please use the feedback form.

Use an online service

If you want to request a service, report a fault or use another online service that you've seen advertised, go to Do It Online. All of the online services that are currently available can be accessed in this section, including tools like the roadworks finder and wedding gallery. More and more services will be accessible online in the future - it's one of our priorities to give you a choice about the way you do things.

Sometimes organisations will carry out consultations online. This is your chance to have a say about a range of things that may affect the services you receive or your environment. Check the Have Your Say section to see if there are any consultations relevant to you happening at the moment.
