Welcome to Glenrothes High School
"Aspiring to excellence and improving life chances for all"
Glenrothes High School is a 6-year non-denominational, co-educational, comprehensive Secondary school of approximately 800 learners. We are committed to inclusive education. We are one of only 5 Secondary schools in Scotlandto have attained Rights Respecting Schools Award status based on the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). We have also been awarded the ‘Intermediate Internationalism’ Award from the British Council for our International partnership with Bangladesh.
We provide secondary education for young people aged 11-18 years in a relatively confined area of central and north Glenrothes. We have strong links with our 4 associated primary schools (Caskieberran, Pitcoudie, Rimbleton and SouthParks) - whilst each year attract a large number of placing requests (approx.25%). The Department of Additional Support (DAS) - caters for the needs of pupils with moderate and severe learning difficulties and continues to enrich our inclusive, Rights Respecting secondary school with over 50 learners integrated in GlenrothesHigh School.
