What you should bring

Attending A Clinic


  • Your appointment card or letter
  • List of current medication.
  • Your glasses / hearing aids etc, should you have them

If you are having tests in addition to your appointment then you may have to wait for a few hours.  You may want to consider bringing: 

  • A book or magazine
  • A snack and a drink or money for the shop or dining room.


Coming Into Hospital  

  • Letter from the hospital
  • All necessary medication
  • Your glasses / hearing aids etc, should you have them
  • Pyjamas and dressing gown
  • Slippers or comfortable shoes
  • Underwear
  • Toiletries
  • Small amount of money
  • Phone numbers and contact details of relatives
  • Books and magazines.

It is possible to purchase items such as newspapers and magazines from the shops within the hospitals if you are staying in Queen Margaret Hospital or Victoria Hospital. 

Try not to bring anything of value with you.
