Lochore Meadows Community Sport Hub is based at Lochore Meadows Country park. The Community Sport Hub is made up of a number of sport and physical activity groups that are based at the park and Active Fife.


The Community Sport Hub includes Bums Off Seats, Fife Canoe Group, Meedies Bike Club, Fife Sailability, Outdoor Education, Active Schools and Sports Development.


The Community Sport Hub is foccussed on developing the sports available and the pathways into each activity as well as supporting each group to grow and develop.

There are a number of Sports Clubs and Organisations involved in the development of the Lochore Community Sport Hub.

Sports Clubs


Fife Canoe Activities Group

Fife Canoeing Activities Group (FCAG) is an active, friendly club and is open to anyone who wishes to participate in paddle sport. We have around 80 members with a wide range of abilities.

The club has interests in placid water kayaking, white-water kayaking, playboating, canoe polo and slalom, open boating and sea kayaking.

We have a good skill-training program, encouraging all to participate in the BCU star tests and BCU coaching scheme. The club runs weekly river trips, evening pool sessions during the winter and loch sessions in the summer on Tuesday evenings. FCAG hold introduction river trips for members wishing progress onto white-water during the summer months.

FCAG hold various social events throughout the year for members, family and friends.

Fife Sailability

The club was formed in June 2012 and is affiliated to RYA Sailability Scotland who have supplied the boats. The club is  independent and self financing by membership fees. Based at Lochore Meadows which is a UK Sailability Centre of Excellence and therefore offers all the facilities required for a club of this nature to operate successfully and  with the specially designed Challenger dinghy and an excellent core of volunteer instructors and sailing buddy’s the club is growing from strength to strength. Virtually all disabilities can be catered for from the age of 8 to 80 and beyond. The disabled sailors are encouraged to participate to maximise  their abilities in sailing their boats. The club which is the only one of its kind in Scotland offers sessions on alternative Saturdays starting at 10 and finishing at 4. The fun and freedom is free apart from a fee paid to Fife council.

Meedies Bike Club

Meedies Bike Club is a community cycling club based at Lochore Meadows Country Park in Fife. The club has been in existance since april 2010 and in those 3 short years has gone from strength to strength and has an established adult & junior section. The club is run by volunteers from the local community supported by staff from Fife Councils Outdoor Education Centre.

Organisations Involved


Active Fife


Active Fife provide officer support to the Community Sport Hub and the groups involved. In addition the Active Schools and Sports Development team provide a wide range of extra curricular activities and events.

Bums Off Seats

Bums off Seats is a Fife Walking Initiative. We provide free local health walking opportunities in Fife and all walks are led by a trained team of Volunteer Walk Leaders.


This is a Fife Council funded project with support from Active Fife and Paths for All.

Outdoor Education

We believe that learning in and about the natural environment will lead to a lifelong interest in the outdoors – as well as being great fun!

Our team of qualified professionals are committed to ensuring you have fun taking part in a wide range of safe, enjoyable and challenging experiences.

The Outdoor Education Centre sits within the picturesque Lochore Meadows Country Park. It is next to the Loch for easy access to watersports as well as the many walking paths and biking trails.
