Health Promotion Information and Resources Centre
The Health Promotion Information and Resources Centre (HPIRC) provide resources and materials to anyone working with the population of Fife on health improvement issues. All services and materials provided by HPIRC are free.
Our Collection
We have a collection of over 3000 resources on a wide range of health promotion topics. Resources are available in various formats such as:
- Books, newsletters and information files for finding up-to-date information on health promotion, community development, primary care, public health and health service management.
- A large collection of up-to-date health promotion materials for teaching, displays and presentations. This includes an extensive range of teaching packs, DVDs, videos, and models.
- An extensive range of leaflets and posters which are supplied and delivered free of charge.
- Access to promotional materials for selected local and national campaigns.
- Equipment for loan such as display boards, flipcharts, TV/video/DVD player, slide projectors and screens.

Throughout the year we support 5 national health campaigns.
- No Smoking Day
- Breastfeeding Awareness Week
- Alcohol Awareness Week
- Mental Health Week
- World AIDS Day

SHELCAT – online catalogue
You can search our catalogue – SHELCAT (http://shelcat.org/fi) online and request books held in NHS Fife libraries as well as partner libraries elsewhere in Scotland.
