Visit your local Community Use School!

Did you know there are 12 Community Use Schools throughout Fife? We offer a range of evening and weekend courses and facilities for hire to meet your recreational and vocational needs.

Why not come along and hire a badminton court, have a game of football or basketball or make use of our fitness suites? Each Community Use School offers a great range of facilities for hire…there’s even facilities for conferences or shows!

We offer fun, informal recreational classes for children such as swimming lessons, arts & crafts, drama, football, gymnastics and cookery classes! Whilst the children are having a great time, there are also courses for adults too! Come along to learn conversational language classes, crafts such as embroidery, cookery classes and fitness classes such as yoga and zumba!.

With discounts of up to 50%, the Fifestyle membership scheme is available to assist with the cost of courses. Some courses are ILA Scotland approved. ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme, designed to assist with the cost of approved courses. Anyone living in Scotland, aged 16 years & over and earning less than £22,000 may be eligible to apply for a £200 learning account. For more information, please contact ILA Scotland direct on 0808 100 1090.

Community Use Schools currently offer a number of vocational courses: REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene, Emergency First Aid, NPLQ Pool Lifeguard courses to name but a few! We are seeking to expand the range of vocational courses on offer and hope to develop more SQA courses such as Higher/Int2 English and Maths, French, Geography, SQA Introduction to Computing and SQA Digital Photography courses. There are plans to offer more specialist courses such as SIA Door Security and BIIAB Scottish Certificate for Licensed Premises staff.

We are particularly interested to hear your thoughts. Is there a class that you’re keen to attend? Do you make use of your local Community Use School? If not, tell us why? Do you have the skills to offer a class?. We are keen to engage with our customers and be as accessible as possible, your views matter to us. So please drop us an e-mail on enquires.communityuse@fife.gov.uk
