8 Double Decker Buses Full of People Saved (08 Aug 2008)

MAJOR advances in road safety have been made in Fife over recent years. In the early 1980s as many as 50 people were losing their lives each year on Fife's roads, but since 1986 the number of fatal casualties has remained below 50 each year and in 2007 there were 14 deaths. If the fatal casualty rate of 1986 had prevailed over the last 20 years, a further 570 people would have lost their lives on Fife's roads, that is enough to more than fill 8 double decker buses.

Council welcomes Structure Plan announcement (07 Aug 2008)

FIFE Council welcomed the Scottish Government's announcement today (Thursday 07 August), outlining the process and timescales in moving towards the approval of the Fife Structure Plan.
