Environment and Development Committee (Disbanded May, 2007)
Terms of Reference: The Environment and Development Committee was disbanded in May, 2007. It dealt with the following matters:- - planning (including adoption of Local Plans and approval of the Fife Development Control Scheme); - building control; - environment (including monitoring and control of air and water quality, contaminated land and preparation of the environmental protection strategy); - economic development (excluding vocational training); - roads; - transportation (including strategic transportation schemes and traffic orders required for such schemes); - harbours; - coastal protection and flood prevention; and - cleansing and waste management. Scrutiny and Performance Review The scrutiny and performance review functions of all committees are set out in paragraphs 3.6 and 3.8 of the Scheme of Administration.
