Fife based radio station Kingdom FM have announced that their first Local Heroes Awards will be held at the Rothes Halls in Glenrothes on Thursday 21st August.

The evening will be a celebration across thirteen categories of the work and contributions individuals, organisations and indeed local schools have made to the Fife Community. The event will be hosted by former Scottish Television news anchor Shereen Nanjiani.

The event, sponsored by the Arts and Theatres Trust Fife (AttFife), Royal Bank of Scotland, CCW Business Lawyers, and with support from the Courier, is the first of its kind in Fife.

The categories include The Volunteering Award, The Child of Achievement Award and The Best School Award. Full details of all categories and how to vote can be found at the Kingdom FM website www.kingdomfm.co.uk and nomination forms will be available in Fife branches of the Royal Bank of Scotland and all AttFife venues from next week.

Kevin Brady, Managing Director of Kingdom FM said "As we head towards our tenth birthday later this year we wanted to create a significant event to recognise the contribution of our listeners and the Fife community at large to the positive spirit of life in Fife".

Frank Chinn, Chief Executive of the Arts and Theatres Trust said "AttFife is delighted to support such an important and prestigious event and we look forward to welcoming all the award nominees to the Rothes Halls".
