National Pool Lifeguard Course at Lochgelly High Community Use

Lochgelly High School Community Use is offering a forth-coming Pool Lifeguard Course. Starting from Monday 6th August 2012, this course runs for a full week (Monday to Friday) from 09.00am until 5.00pm. The assessment will take place on Saturday 11th August 2012 before 12 noon. This course costs £212.00.

The Pool lifeguard award is a nationally recognised qualification that all Pool Lifeguards are required to hold in order to gain Lifeguarding employment.

The components of the course include the following:-
UNIT 1  -  The Principles of Lifesaving and swimming Pool Supervision
UNIT 2  -  The Application of Supervision and Rescue in a Swimming Pool

This course is ILA Scotland approved. ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme which provides assistance with the cost of approved course fees. Anyone living in Scotland, aged 16 years and over and earning less than £22,000 per year may be eligible to apply for a £200 Learning account.
