The winning photographs in the Art in the Windows project were unveiled to the public in Cupar on Friday, and over 200 people came to see them.
Pupils from the four primary and secondary schools in Cupar worked with a professional photographer on the ‘Art in the Windows’ project for two months, photographing themselves getting active around the town to inspire Cupar residents to get moving.
Fife Herald Editor Graeme Scott judged the entries and selected a winning picture from each school. These prints were then displayed in four shop windows around the town and at an exhibition in the Corn Exchange on Friday.
The talented winners were Shiobhan Clyne from Bell Baxter High; Jacob Adams from St Columbas RC Primary; Rosa Swaddle from Castlehill Primary and Ashleigh Church from Kilmoran School. All four winners received canvas prints of their photographs and a digital camera.
Over 200 pupils also received an active travel goody bag at the exhibition after correctly identifying which shops were displaying the winning pictures.
The project was well received by everyone involved. Rosa Swaddle, prize winner from Castlehill Primary, said: “Working with the photographer was great fun!”
Fellow pupil Andrea Gavin also thoroughly enjoyed the project taking part, saying: "I thought it was a great project and I would definitely do it again."
John McNaughton, whose daughter, Connie, took part with her school, added: "The exhibition was a great idea, and the results were fantastic from a photography point of view."
