Scotland v Sweden at Starks Park
Archived news: published on Tuesday 08 May 2012 by Fife Council
Scotland Women's A squad take on Sweden in an International Challenge match at Starks Park, Kirkcaldy on Saturday 26th May at 3pm. With Scotland in the middle of a campaign to qualify for Euro 2013, and currently sitting in second place in their group, this promises to be a match of the highest quality, as they build for their next qualifying game against Israel at Tynecastle on 16th June.
As Fife looks to attract more sporting events of this quality, it is important that we get a good crowd to the game, so we are calling on all families to attend on the day and support our National side. Tickets are only £5 for adults and £2 for children and are available to buy on the day at the cash gate. The highest ever attendance at a Scotland women's match was 1,900 last month against the Rebublic of Ireland, and the SFA are hoping to beat that record in Fife.
Girls and Women's football is the fastest growing sport in Scotland, so if you know of a female aged 9-50 that is interested in playing football, please get in touch to find out where the nearest club is. With a sport growing as quickly as it is, more coaches are also needed, so if you are interested in coaching in the women's and girls game, please get in touch to find out what opportunities are available.
