First Aid on Revolution Bus
The Revolution Bus parked up at Glenwood High School at lunchtime on Monday 30th April 2012 offering 16 young people the opportunity to learn basic life saving skills. Wendy Young, First Aid Trainer, aided by the support of NHS & CLD staff, demonstrated how to carry out CPR, gave techniques to deal with choking & critical bleeding and advised how to report these types of emergencies.
Thanks to Cashback funding, the Revolution Bus has toured the Glenrothes area every Monday for 4 months. The purpose has been to offer a youth information & sexual health and relationships service at the 3 secondary schools at lunchtime and afterschool. In the evening the bus has been sited at targetted areas across the town. Other workshops on the Revolution Bus programme since January 2012 have included self-image, relationships, sexual health, peer education activities and self-esteem.
