Reading Relay Update

Archived news: published on Thursday 16 Aug 2012 by Fife Council

The excitement of Britain coming third in the Olympic 2012 medal table is still sinking in around here, but there is another medal table we’d like you to keep an eye on to keep the Olympic spirit alive and well in Fife.

The race is hotting up as the titles in our Reading Relay promotion round the bend and set up for the home straight!  Who will emerge as the winner is still a mystery, but the top three are beginning to stretch ahead.

Our current leader for Gold is The Bomber by Liza Marklund – an exciting tale from a Nordic crime writer who is definitely worth checking out, as the votes are showing.

Coming up in the Silver medal position is Master of Rome by John Stack, reminding us that readers in Fife are just as fascinated by a well-written historical tale as they ever have been.

Currently in Bronze medal position is The House of Dust and Dreams by Brenda Reid.  We’ve had many positive comments about this book and it seems to be a thoughtful, romantic and dramatic read.

There is still time to take part in the Reading Relay and help us continue to pass on the baton of reading to as many people in Fife as we can!
