Champion Volunteer - Chloe Brown
For the second year running, the prestigious Diana Award has been presented to a learner on the Glenwood Flexible Curriculum. Chloe Brown, an S4 pupil at Glenwood was presented with the Champion Volunteer award. Chloe works as a volunteer at a lunchtime Drop In and also a health improvement project. She regularly supports large school events, is actively used as a Role Model in school and community groups and has helped develop the Glenwood Lodge.
During the early years of high school, Chloe regularly truanted from school, was offending in the community and had an unsettling home background to deal with. The award was a way of recognising how Chloe has overcome these issues and changed her life for the better. Through her hard work in the last 12 months, Chloe has amassed a range of nationally recognised accreditation, sat her standard grade exams and has the option of whether to stay at School or go to College. None of this would have been thought possible 12 months ago.
