Here is our Pallet Garden. Can you spot the red bus travelling around Fife?
The challenge was to design a Pallet Garden on the theme of "Celebrating Fife". We started thinking about what we could do with our teacher, Ms Widemann and we remembered going to the Instrumental Instructors concert last term where we were taken on a musical journey around Fife on a 'Magical Music Bus' . The bus stopped at different places in Fife and the orchestra played some music from that area of Fife. This gave us the idea of having special places in Fife marked on Bus Stops for the bus to visit. Can you see our bright red bus and the different bus stops?
Then we looked at Fife on Google Earth and we could see that Fife has beautiful beaches and woodlands, forests and hills but what we really noticed was the patchwork pattern of fields all over Fife and this became a big part of our design. We went up to our Wildlife Garden and collected leaves and plants and other interesting things and then made them into little field shaped pieces of art, which we stuck together to make the map of Fife. Our pallet was finished off with sand and shells for the beaches and lots of different plants to represent the forests and woodlands and amazing variety of plants in Fife. The backdrop shows the Lomond Hills rising above Fife and the sea is represented with bright pansies in shades of blue. If you look really hard you may be able to spot a dolphin swimming around the Tentsmuir Forest area and some fish swimming in the sea!
