Lochgelly High Community Use School is offering the Level 1 British Sign Language course, starting from Tuesday 11th September 2012 (from 6.30pm until 8.30pm).
Our course has been accredited by Signature, a governing body which promotes excellence in communication with deaf people. This tutor led course is suitable for complete beginners. Topics covered include finger spelling, general conversations, story telling, asking for directions etc. There will be three formal assessments throughout the course. Upon successful completion, candidates will be awarded with a nationally recognised qualification.
This course runs for 27 weeks and costs £285. It is ILA Scotland approved.
ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme, which provides assistance with the cost of approved courses. Anyone living in Scotland, aged 16 years and over and earning less than £22,000 per year may be eligible to apply for a £200 learning account.
