Fife Local Development Plan receives over 200 Site Submissions

Developers, landowners, and agents were given the chance to submit information on potential development sites they would like to be considered for inclusion in the new Fife Local Development Plan (LDP). Over 200 new sites were submitted. None of these sites have any planning status and had to demonstrate they were viable and capable of being developed.
This is an important step for Fife Council in the development of the new Fife LD P which will replace the 3 current Local Plans.
Bill Lindsay, Service Manager (Development Plan) said, "This is a very encouraging response, which together with community submissions by Community Councils and Community Focus groups on what matters to local communities, gives is us a good starting point to consider what should be included in the Main Issues report to be published later this year. A lengthy process of site assessment is now getting underway."
The next step is to assess all the submissions for their suitability to be potentially included in the upcoming Fife Local Development Plan. Site Assessments will be published as part of the Main Issues Report in October.
