Andrew Arbuckle Book
Come along to Ladybank Library on Monday 15th February at 7.30pm to meet and chat with local author, Andrew Arbuckle.
Andrew will be talking about his recently published second book,” We waved to the baker: tales of a rural childhood.” In this collection of stories, the author shows us rural life through the eyes and mind of a young boy. While there are humorous tales of building secret hideaways and of sitting on the stairs, after bedtime, listening to the grown ups downstairs, life is not portrayed as a constant country idyll- not when the schoolmaster had a painful method of dealing with pupils who stepped out of line nor when there were tatties to be lifted on cold autumn days!
In all, these are tales of a happy childhood which make a pleasant and easy read.
Tickets cost £2 and can be booked at Ladybank Library (tel 01334 659460 or email ladybank.library@fife,gov.uk) or by contacting your local library.
Copies of both Andrew’s books will be on sale on the night and the author will be happy to sign copies for anyone who wishes.
