Instrumental Instructor Concerts

Fife’s Instrumental Instructors were involved in eight highly successful performances to over 3,500 children and young people in the Rothes Halls Glenrothes last week.

The hour long performances were based on the theme, “Music Through Time” and featured a wide variety of music from orchestral film themes to the swinging sounds of the Big Band. Pupils learnt how composers’ writing styles evolved over the centuries, enjoying music spanning five centuries.  From pop divas to hit musicals, there was something for everyone.

Talented young artists from Crossgates, Dalgety Bay, Duloch, Foulford and Pitteuchar East Primary Schools contributed artwork for a powerpoint presentation which accompanied the live music, bringing the music vividly to life.

Once again, students from the Creative Industries Department of the Adam Smith College filmed the event live, beaming images on to a large screen, adding to the studio feel of the performance.

With over 70 schools attending, this event has become a hugely popular fixture in the school calendar and plans are already underway for next year!

Fife Youth Music Initiative, with funding from the Scottish Government via Creative Scotland, supported this event with transport subsidies for schools.
