Fife Fire and Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer Neil McFarlane congratulates Firefighter David Kay on his OBE for his work with The International Fire and Rescue Association.

David received his OBE on Tuesday from Buckingham Palace.  He said “I am so proud to receive this award but feels that it is actually for all of the IFRA members. IFRA is a charity made up of its members who are passionate about helping others. With over 70 vehicles going out and almost 40 missions and millions of pounds worth of equipment that can’t be used here but can still be used to save lives now in countries that are desperate for help.”

Chief Fire Officer Neil McFarlane says “David was nominated by the Service as we recognised all the hard work he has done for IFRA and he thoroughly deserves this honour.”

David wishes to thank Fife Fire and Rescue Service for nominating him for this award

David is based at Lochgelly Fire Station on the Red Watch
