Writing Competition

Archived news: published on Monday 25 Jan 2010 by Fife Council

Budding Fife writers are invited to enter Fife Council Libraries & Museums annual Creative Writing Competition. The competition has taken its theme from the Celebrating Fife, Local Heroes project which will be running throughout 2010.   The challenge for this year is to write a short story about a hero, real or imagined.  We all have our own idea of what makes a hero, tell us who yours is - is it Supergran or Superman, or the person who lives down the street?

The competition has two age groups. Adult entrants must be aged 16 or over, while writers from Primary 7 up to age 15 can enter the junior section. First prize in each section is a cash prize of £100, second £50, and third £30.

Copies of the entry form and rules are available from all libraries, or can be accessed online at www.fifedirect.org.uk/localheroes, the closing date for entries is Monday 08 March.
