FacebookSIA Approved Door Security Course at Kirkland High Community Use

In association with Specific Security Ltd, Kirkland High Community Use will be offering an SIA Approved Door Security course (dates to be confirmed once enough interest is generated). This course leads to a nationally recognised qualification and successful candidates will be able to apply for an SIA Door License.
This 4 day course covers the following units:
- Working in the private security industry
- Working as a door supervisor
- Conflict management in the private security industry
- Physical intervention skills (MAYBO)
The course content covers current legislation and professional practice for the security industry, practical skills for managing and dispersing conflict and understanding techniques involved in disengagement and holding. Assessment takes place with a multiple choice examination, which lasts approximately 60 minutes and is externally assessed. The physical intervention unit has an observational element.
The cost of this course is £220, which includes training manuals and the assessment. It is ILA Scotland approved.
ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme which is designed to provide assistance with the cost of approved courses. Anyone living in Scotland, aged 16 years and over and earning less than £22,000 may be eligible to apply for a £200 learning account.
