Riverside Park new play equipment
New play equipment has been installed in the Riverside Park, Glenrothes as part of a Participatory Budgeting project.
In November children from fourteen primary schools took part in voting in school time on a variety of play equipment.
In November representatives from the schools were invited to an event in Glenrothes Local Office when the children where told which equipment was chosen following the school vote.
The children were then given the opportunity to have another vote on more equipment as there was still money left from the project. The childrens decision was unanimous.
On a very cold and frosty December morning four of the children joined us on a site visit where they were shown where the equipment was going to be installed in Riverside Park. The first sod was cut by two of the children on the 19th of March and work began on the installation.
The equipment will be officially opened by the children on Wednesday 30th May at 4pm. All primary aged children in Glenrothes are invited to come along with friends and family to Riverside Park (Lidls/Heritage end of Park) to this opening.
