Council Internet Problems

Edmund Whiffen, IT manager, Service Improvement & Engagement said:  “Damage to fibre optic cables in Kirkcaldy yesterday caused a partial loss of internet connection for the council.  This has particularly affected the council sending and receiving external emails.  Our internet connection suppliers are actively working to fix the fault and the council has been able to reroute many of our major systems to bypass the problem.   At this point, external email is still unavailable.  We are working with the suppliers to ensure the issue is resolved as soon as possible.”
