Reminder to Have your say on Finalised St Andrews & East Fife Local Plan 2009

Archived news: published on Thursday 17 Dec 2009 by Fife Council

Following two Drop-In events organised by Fife Council’s Development Services, residents of St Andrews and East Fife are reminded that they have until 24 December to have their say on the future planning policies for their area.

The Consultation on the Finalised St Andrews and East Fife Local Plan 2009 has been running since 30 October 2009. As part of this, events held in Cupar and St Andrews on 12 and 13 November were well attended. Planning officers were on hand to discuss any issues the public had about the Local Plan and proposed land uses in their area.

As part of the consultation, members of the public can also comment on the report outlining the study of a visual analysis of development to the west of St Andrews which was approved at Planning Committee on 01 October 2009. This report highlights the views which must be protected as part of the development strategy for St Andrews and addresses the principles that will govern development of the subsequent St Andrews West Masterplan.

Anyone still wishing to submit objections and representations to the Plan can do so online at http://lpconsult.fife.gov.uk/portal/fsaeflp09 or in writing up until 24 December 2009. Views expressed throughout the community engagement process, will help to shape the subsequent master planning processes for the Cupar North and St Andrews West Strategic Land Allocations.

The Council will assess and respond to submissions prior to an examination of the Plan which is anticipated to take place during Autumn/Winter 2010. Adoption of the Plan is likely to be in 2011.
