Officers from Kirkcaldy have presented a cheque to Fife SANDS.

PCs Alan Paton & Lindsey Skene who are Community Officers for Kirkcaldy North presented the charity with a cheque for £2,230 earlier today.

Fife Sands offers support and advice to parents and families whose baby has died during pregnancy or soon after birth.

Fife Sands also aims to raise awareness amongst the community of the trauma surrounding such a loss and provides information to health professionals involved in the care of bereaved parents.

Jennifer Callaghan, Chairperson of Fife SANDS, said: "We would like to thank Fife Constabulary for such a generous donation.  We will use the monies to continue supporting local families through our support groups and counselling sessions that we provide.

Staff pay monies into a fund designed to help sustain good causes that provide support to communities throughout Fife.
