Woodmill Celebrates Its Second Green Flag

Woodmill High School is proud to announce that it has been awarded its second Green Flag from Eco Schools Scotland.

Woodmill gained its first Flag in late 2009 and Green Flag status now has to be validated every two years so this second award is the result of a thorough and demanding examination of the school’s Eco policies and practices.

Rector Mike Gilmour congratulated the staff and pupils on the Eco Committee for the hard work and commitment which they have shown in leading eco improvements within the school.   ‘The Green Flag is a nationally recognised symbol of quality and the school is proud to have retained this status.  Ms Urquhart and Mr Maxton, who lead the Eco Committee, deserve a great deal of credit for their work over the years in managing the Eco process in the school and the pupils on the Eco Committee have responded with enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to lead by example.   We now have the challenge of retaining our Green Flag status over the coming years.’
