THEY say it never rains on the golf course…. well it doesn’t rain when you are playing outdoors either!  Despite the heavy rain recently it didn’t stop children attending the first week of an outdoor play project in Falkland Estate, organised by Fife Child Care & Early Years Service.

Children from Cowdenbeath, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes and Levenmouth  areas were all kitted in waterproofs and wellies to take part in the outdoor activities and had a splashing time!.

Two giant teepees were erected on the site at Falkland specifically for outdoor play opportunities and these provided shelter from the elements if required.

Chris McConnell, Fife Child Care & Early Years Service said

“The children have been so receptive to the project and they are really showing us that when it comes to ‘playing’ they’re the experts! Come rain or shine they’ve been out exploring and learning about the environment. It’s been a pleasure to see how engaged and confident they are out here”.
