Hopes are high for the weather this weekend as the first Riverside Park Festival takes place.
The three-day, outdoor event begins on Friday afternoon (27 July) at Riverside Park in Glenrothes and has an action packed programme that runs through until Sunday (29 July).
Highlights include mountain bike stunt show from The Clan, circus workshops and a teddy bear’s picnic with Aileen Paterson (author of the Maisie books).
Councillor William Kay, Chair of the Glenrothes Area Committee said: “A lot of work has gone into organising the Festival and it has been a real community effort. The recently established Friends of Riverside Park group and the many volunteers from a range of organisations have helped make this happen.
“We’ve also teamed up with local businesses in the nearby Kingdom Shopping Centre to offer discounts throughout the course of the festival to encourage people to shop local.
“Now we are just hopeful that the weather holds out and we have a dry weekend to enjoy the fun! It would be great to see this event develop over the coming years to become an established festival organised by the local community.”
