Changes to ILA Scotland Eligibility Criteria

ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme designed to assist people with the cost of approved courses. Anyone living in Scotland, aged 16 years & over and earning less than £22,000 per year can currently apply for a £200 learning account.

Following an announcement by the Scottish Government, the eligibility criteria for ILA Scotland funding have been extended to ensure effective targeting of resources. From 1st July 2012, the following additional criteria will be applied to all applications:

  • Must not be in part-time or full-time Secondary, Further or Higher Education.
  • Must not be degree qualified.
  • Must not be participating in a National Training Programme (Modern Apprenticeships, Get Ready for Work or Training for Work programmes).

Fife Council's 12 Community Use Schools support this commitment by offering a range of ILA Scotland approved courses: REHIS Food Hygiene, Emergency First Aid at Work, Introduction to Manicure & Pedicure, Scottish Licensed Premises Staff training, PC Passport,  NPLQ Pool Lifegaurd, UKCC Sports Coaching awards etc.
