Fife Safety Camera Partnership will deploy mobile units on over bridges along the section of the A92 between Kirkcaldy West and Crossgates.

Partnership Manager, Andy Jones said:

"By situating the mobile unit on over bridges above the A92 we are enhancing our high visibility strategy.  The mobile unit will be focussing on the A92 sites.

"Road users should remember that the speed limit is a maximum and not a target and my best advice is to check your vehicle classification to make sure you're driving within the speed limit for the A92.

§         Driving a car, motorcycle or (in some cases) a car derived van -  your maximum speed is 70 mph.

§         Driving a goods vehicle not exceeding 7.5 tonnes max. laden weight - your maximum speed is 60 mph.

§         If you're driving a goods vehicle above 7.5 tonnes max. laden weight  - your maximum speed is  50 mph.

§         Please be aware that your vehicle speed should be reduced by 10 mph if towing.

" Please make sure YOU know the correct speed for the vehicle you are driving.  You can check the speed table on our website.  Be a considerate driver by keeping to the speed limits."

All our camera sites have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles.   We may from time to time use mobile cameras at other sites where both vehicle and road users are at greater risk, such as road works.
