Methilhaven Care Home given excellent grading

Fife Council’s Methilhaven Care Home has been given ‘excellent’ gradings by the Care Inspectorate for its Quality of Care and Support; Environment; Staffing and, Management and Leadership.

The Care Inspectorate praised the service concluding that: ”Methilhaven has maintained very high standards in all aspects of the service. People living here are very well supported to enjoy a good quality of life. They and their relatives continue to experience a high level of satisfaction. Improvements continue and the evidence is that once made, these are maintained resulting in an excellent service.”

Stephen Moore, Executive Director said: “I am pleased to report the findings of the Care Inspectorate. The excellent grading demonstrates our absolute commitment to providing the best possible services to vulnerable people in Fife.

“The report is testament to the hard work and dedication of staff who have worked very hard, together with residents and their families, to make sure that Methilhaven is a home in the true sense of the word and, that the level of care and support is tailored to each person’s individual needs.

“The hard work of course doesn’t stop here, we remain committed to providing people in our care the very best that we can and we will continue to improve our services.”

Karen Taylor, Unit Manager said: “I am absolutely delighted with these grades, I believe it recognises the commitment and high standards of care provided within local authority care homes. I would like to thank all the staff at Methilhaven for their hard work.”

Councillor Judy Hamilton, Executive Spokesperson for Social Work and Health praised the report saying: “The achievement at Methilhaven is second to none. I am delighted that the inspectors found that residents at the home are receiving the best possible care. I have been to the home to pass on my personal congratulations to staff and meet residents and, I would like to thank again each and every member of staff for playing their part in making Methilhaven truly excellent.”
