Burntisland Development Trust  was set up to work in partnership to help fund long term sustainable economic and environmental projects to benefit the people of Burntisland, Central Fife and those other communities affected by the closure of Alcan.

 

The Trust is a non-profit making company limited by guarantee with charitable status and is managed by a Board of Directors. Current membership includes:

 

What are the Trust's Priorities?

Five key criteria

  • Employment & Economic Development to promote employment opportunities and to encourage visitors to Burntisland.
  • Education & Training - Lifelong learning initiatives.
  • Improvements to the physical environment of areas such as hard landscaping, planting or conservation projects.
  • Health & Safety Initiatives - complementary to environmental remediation works completed by Alcan.
  • Inclusive Community - reduce inequalities and increase resident's satisfaction by including communities in the renewal process.
