StAnza, Scotland's International Poetry Festival
Profile
StAnza is an acclaimed international organisation which celebrates and advances poetry and culture, and in particular promotes poetry in Scotland and raises the profile of Scottish poetry beyond Scotland. StAnza was established to advance the education of the public by:
- Promoting, organising and running an annual poetry festival in Fife and related events to celebrate poetry;
- Initiating events, projects, programmes and the like for the promotion and advancement of Scottish and/or other cultures and in particular of poetry in Scotland and elsewhere;
- Facilitating events, projects, programmes and the like for the promotion and advancement of poetry in the community;
- Providing a platform for poets and thereby promoting through the festival excellence in poetry;
Enabling encounters with poetry and poetry in collaboration with other art forms. The next StAnza festival takes place in St Andrews from 6th March 2013.
