The Healthy Living & Sensory Awareness Project aims to increase the opportunities for a healthy lifestyle for people with a sensory loss who live in Fife - British Sign Language (BSL) users, deaf, deafened, hard-of-hearing, blind, partially sighted and deafblind people.
It improves access to health and leisure services and information for people with a sensory loss.
It encourages healthy living for people with a sensory loss.
The Project:
- Works closely with people with a sensory loss to improve knowledge about health and well-being
- Promotes and delivers sensory awareness training to health services, complementary therapists and leisure services
- Encourages and advises on the production of accessible health information
- Organises "taster" events for groups
- Helps individuals access the services and activities that interest them
- Keeps in touch with BSL users, deaf, deafened, hard-of-hearing, blind, partially sighted and deafblind people to pick up new issues
